Belfast's Electric Red play a style of heavy alternative rock that has drawn comparisons to underground heavyweights Baroness & Torche, but manages to have it's own unique identity that transcends modern heavy rocks tired clichés and rehashed sounds.
Formed in 2008 they have played with the likes of Taint & The Slomatics and have previously released a 3 track EP "ION" to rave reviews.
"ION is exactly what I needed to hear" - John Pregraro, stonerrock.com
"ION" received extensive airplay on Radio1 NIs "Introducing" & Radio Ulster's "Across The Line" programmes and the band cemented this success with a number of gigs in Belfast and Dublin.
Electric Red's debut album "In This Machine" was recorded and produced entirely by the band themselves, and is a true "DIY" effort (artwork and all!), showcasing exactly what the band are capable of without any outside support!
Pounding rhythms, spacious riffing and pronounced bass lines drive a sound that is all too unfamiliar in today's music market of retro metal and copycat . Check out "In This Machine" for something different!
